Chemotherapy & radiation therapy

Fluorouracil (5-FU), Mitomycin (Mutamycin), radiation therapy

Regimen

  • Fluorouracil (5-FU) 1000 mg/m2/day IV continuous infusion on days 1-4 and 29-32
  • Mitomycin (Mutamycin) 10 mg/m2 (maximum of 20mg per dose) IV bolus on days 1 & 29
  • Concurrent radiation therapy; at a minimum: 1.8 Gy per day, 5 days per week; 25 fractions given over 5 weeks total for a total of 45 Gy
