Ayo Falade, MD is an internal medicine resident at MGB Salem Hospital, Massachusetts. He completed his medical school at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and is the founder of Intervention on Health and Community Development Initiative, an NGO that educates the local community and provides screening for basic medical conditions (pap smear, blood glucose, blood pressure, etc) in Nigeria. In addition to a strong interest in hematology/oncology patient care and translational research, Dr. Falade’s interests include healthcare management and delivery of quality healthcare to the community that needs it the most. This is why he completed an MBA in healthcare management and an Advanced Postgraduate Degree in healthcare and hospital management. He has participated in various projects mostly across Europe, including volunteering at his Medical school’s Biology lab for 3 years working on Fibroblast neoplastic properties. He was also the oncology research pillar director for European Medical Students Association at his medical school before transitioning to the local coordinator for the Association. He is a current member of European Society for Medical Oncology. He also holds a first degree in Biochemistry which he obtained from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and did a project on antioxidant properties of Solanum sp. Finally, he has attended several cancer-focused summer schools in Europe, including Cancer Summer school at the University of Angers France, and Immunotherapy at Utrecht University.
