Class/mechanism: Steroidal aromatase inhibitor; irreversibly binds and inactivates the aromatase enzyme that converts adrenal and ovarian androgens (androstenedione and testosterone) to estrogens (estrone and estradiol) in peripheral tissues.[1][2]
