Requirements

  • US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (does not accept J1 and H1B applicants)
  • Completed at least 1.5 years of US ACGME-accredited residency training at the time of application
  • Passed UCMLE step 1 & 2
  • "Hold a current and valid California Medical License or, in lieu of a California Medical License, applied for a Postgraduate Training Authorization Letter (PTAL) through the California Medical Board if you have not received residency training in the United States. If a PTAL is required, you must one by the time interviews are concluded in order to be eligible to submit your name in the ranking. Please note that the PTAL takes approximately 60-90 days to receive so please apply early in the ERAS application process. If you have received residency training in the United States through an ACGME-accredited program, there should be no requirement for a PTAL."
