TACE

Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) refers to a number of local delivery approaches which are almost exclusively used in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma or hepatic metastases. Typically there is an inert lipid-based carrier such as lipiodol and an expander such as gelatin foam, along with chemotherapy. Another formulation consists of drug-eluting beads.
Examples chemotherapies include (this list will be filled in over time):
- Cisplatin, Doxorubicin, Epirubicin, and Mitomycin
