About this Oncology Wiki
This is a project that I have undertaken as of 11/11/11 in an attempt to create a reference for hematology/oncology professionals. Priorities of this project will initially consist of:
- Creating a database of chemotherapeutic agents.
- Creating an index of diseases.
- Creating a list of active clinical trials at BIDMC that can be used by current providers.
- Creating a list of chemotherapeutic regimens and common order sets.
- Creating checklists that can be used for patients starting therapy with particular regimens. Areas of focus will include: informed consent/discussion of side effects, supportive medications, dose/schedule adjustments, and the chemotherapy orders themselves.
Oncology issues are ever-changing, and I believe that the collaborative efforts of a group of dedicated contributors can result in a far more useful resource than one maintained by a sole person or one which cannot be accessed from virtually any computer with internet access.
Copyright issues will need to be considered for all entries.
