Definition
- Mild eosinophilia: Absolute eosinophil count 500 to 1500 cells/uL
- Moderate eosinophilia: Absolute eosinophil count 1500 to 5000 cells/uL
- Severe eosinophilia: Absolute eosinophil count >5000 cells/uL
Evaluation
May consist of:
- CBC with differential
- Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)
- Vitamin B12
- Troponin I
- CK
- Strongyloides Antibody
- CHIC2, 4q12 Deletion (FIP1L1 and PDGFRA Fusion) FISH.
- T-Cell Receptor Gene Rearrangement PCR.
- BCR-ABL FISH
- Stool ova and parisites
- Chest x-ray
- Echocardiogram
- CT scans to evaluate for pulmonary pathology, lymphadenopathy
- Bone marrow biopsy
- Pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
- Clinical/infection history, international travel
- Medications
