A class of drugs that inhibit the protein products of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase family (MAP2K, often called MEK). These proteins are formally called MAP2K1 through MAP2K7 but MAP2K1 and MAP2K2 are often referred to as MEK1 and MEK2.
