A class of drugs that has varying degrees of exogenous glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid effects. Used in both supportive care (e.g. prevention of allergic reactions and nausea) and in disease treatment, most particularly in lymphoid conditions and in hormone-dependent cancers.
