A class of drugs that inhibits one or more protein products of the kinome. Note that while these are generally considered "targeted" agents, many of them affect multiple protein kinases. Drugs with multiple targets e.g. Imatinib (Gleevec) are so-called "dirty drugs" but may in fact be more clinically relevant than so-called "clean drugs". See this commentary for more information.
